“Frangetta Mix”, Lelli Kelly ’s first iconic model, was first presented to the public in 1993. Following a major advertising campaign, it became a real must-have for girls all over Italy.
To celebrate this cult model, Lelli Kelly is now re-proposing an enchanting restyling, keeping unaltered its original ‘90s aesthetic, characterised by a charming fringe - “Frangetta” in Italian - that is combined in a novel way with a lovely trimming featuring floral motifs and patterns.
The difference in style of the new “Frangetta Mix” sneakers lies in the innovative combinations of colours and materials, from patent to suede or glitter as well as the special material made with the contribution of apple scraps, following the processing for the food industry and otherwise unusable.
This exclusive eco-friendly version can be recognised by the pretty apple-shaped diamanté pendant, which completes the look of this footwear with a timeless design, where the Lelli Kelly brand and logo also appear in the original vintage version.
And there's more: Lelli Kelly has designed the “Frangetta Mix” model not only in a Limited Edition (1.000 numbered pairs), but also in the delicious “Pan di Zucchero” version, made of bright and sparkling multicoloured glitter.
With “Frangetta Mix”, Lelli Kelly proposes an interesting focus on eco-sustainability: this is why the company commissioned artist Emy Petrini to create a work of art to be exhibited at the “Pianeta Terra Festival”. The event, which takes place every year in Lucca on the initiative of Editori Laterza publishing house, deals with important and topical issues such as sustainability, climate, energy and biodiversity.
Emy Petrini is an Italian floral designer and land artist, who works in harmony with Nature and the Seasons and is known for her work based on the principles of eco-sustainability: her artworks and installations are made from the crop prunings, which, once harvested in the fields, take on new forms and a new life, rather than remaining to decompose in the soil.
The special video “Almost under the sky” focuses on the artwork, which represents an upward ascent, connecting earth and sky through the elements of nature.
